What a Strange Morning (or the Advantages of Not Going to the Gym; Lively and Complementary Emails and Telephone Conversations; A Clean Apartment; Go Away from My Window; A Photo Shoot; A Flower Arrangement
I awoke feeling a bit dispirited. So word of the day will be dispirited, an adjective with the following meaning:having lost enthusiasm and hope; disheartened: she was determined to appear unworried in front of her dispirited family.
Well that was me at 5:30 am, frankly dispirited. But then several things intervened. I read my blog of yesterday as Chris had posted it while I slept. Then an email from Chris telling me that his computer was in the hospital.
Me: Too bad about your computer. Should I send flowers?
He: Yes send flowers, I’ve fixed it, new power connector from a dead machine my friend left here ages back and a new charger. Repaired in 8 hours. God. I amaze myself sometimes! Xx
Me: As a man said to me today. You never cease to amaze me Alexis. I will send you his picture not for publication. SO damn handsome so YOU never cease to amaze me! Xxx (beat you) Hahahaha
Then an email from Insomniac Lynne, the high school friend and also a Good Morning greeting from an Instagram guy. But the icing on the cake was a series of emails exchanged between NZW and me/I (never can figure that one out).
She: see you are self sufficient Alexis but who is this guy on Instagram he sent me message saying hi but I don’t know him ?
Me: Yeah – he sent me s message as well – he is trolling for women. Probably in jail. Hahahaha
She: Thanks for info. Good to know !
But then. a little later as we continued to communicate
Me: Gosh darn. I just got a message from  that guy on Instagram. I will ignore it – that is the only way to deal with it. What a bloody bother. He wrote before and said I was beautiful. I wrote back saying he needed glasses and that only encouraged him. Hahahaha Alexis.
So then more conversation that ended with her statement.
She:  Alexis that is so funny!(mm ,gay guys, Hubby’s  opinion and  IG (instagram Guy)
So in the end I was immensely cheered, and began this blog . But then the day progressed in an unexpected fashion – trips to the bank, to the library. A wonderful man gave me a free flower from his flower shop. I lunched at Dunn’s munching a smoked meat wrap that was utterly delicious. Waited a bit and along came the wonderful housecleaners and we had such fun laughing about our improbable lives – they are Irish, I am not. But we agreed on many things, many. The fact that British and Irish men are totally out of touch with their feelings – that being one. Then an amazing PBS television program about India, fascinating as I learned so much nit known about the country’s role in WWII. I know a man who was born in India, it made me feel close to him. . Afterwards a long conversation with a man in New York – kept him up after his bedtime. I made a flower arrangement with my free flowers and I may include it with this blog.
I found in my papers a truth that was given to me from someone whose name I do not recall. Here is tis. Truth Hurts. But a Lie Hurts Forever. That is is poignant, particularly for me. I detest liars, therefore there are none in my life. “What a wicked web we weave when we practice to deceive.: Sir Walter Scott – buried in Dryburgh Abbey, Melrose, Scotland.
I am in the act of spurning a couple of people from my life. Spurn, verb with the following meaning: eject with disdain or contempt: he spoke gruffly, as if afraid that his invitation would be spurned. When, in the act of spurring, Bob Dylan’s wonderful song of rejection flows through my thought waves. It is so strong, so eloquent, so unforgiving, so final. It gives me strength.
Go away from my window
Leave at your own chosen speed
I’m not the one you want, babe
I’m not the one you need
You say you’re lookin’ for someone
Who’s never weak, but always strong
To protect you and defend you
Whether you are right or wrong
Someone to open each and every door
But it ain’t me, babe
No, no, no, it ain’t me, babe
It ain’t me you’re lookin’ for, babe
Go lightly from the ledge, babe
Go lightly on the ground
I’m not the one you want, babe
I’ll only let you downY
ou say you’re lookin’ for someone
Who’ll promise never to part
Someone to close his eyes for you
Someone to close his heart
Someone who will die for you and more
But it ain’t me, babe
No, no, no, it ain’t me, babe
It ain’t me you’re lookin’ for, babe
Go melt back in the night
Everything inside is made of stone
There’s nothing in here moving
And anyway, I’m not alone
To end on an upbeat note. I was walking along Hornby after getting my nails done and came upon a photo shoot. Tina Mac looked fantastic in a blue dress, loads of jewelry and blue spikes heels. An image is included. She is seeking the publicity. She is getting it.
