Computer Guru Reacts to Kamakura Cover; Ed Henry Emails; and We Joke Around; But Some Very, Very Bad News; I’ll Get By’ Photograph of Popular Shoes

Yesterday morning I wrote, emailed the blog to computer guru Chris, took a picture of the cover of the Kamasutra book sent that to Chris. Almost immediately he emailed back.

He; She looks kinda bored, and I honestly daren’t ask why her fingers are red x

Me You are so funny! This is going on the blog! This is the reason for her bored expression, the guy was a bum lay so she killed him. Simple! Hahaha

I do admit that I have not gotten very far with the reading of the book, but not worried about it as it will be great reading material on my endless trip to Dubai and then onto London. I am sure that it will keep me awake and entertained. I am laughing, there were concerns about how I would entertain myself for hours. I am a fast reader – positive I shall complete the thing but not sure what I will do with the knowledge.

Then later in the evening I return to my humble abode and find a wonderful email from Ed Henry, the man that rescued me on Tuesday by asking for a collection to whisk me back to San Francisco in a chariot. (well it was actually a North Bay Taxi).

He: Alexis did you get home ok from the Luncheon? We were worried about you.

Me: Of course I got home my darling!! Read my blog wherein I praise you to the STARS and the MOON. alexismcbide.com – on the internet where I have had almost a millions views. You are wonderful, you restored me faith in life. We must stay in touch. I leave on December 22 for London and Dubai. WOW. But I hope you will always be in my life – you and your precious wife. I remember about writing about you guys on a profile and what a wonderful marriage you have. One I have not had – YET. But there is the Crown Prince of Dubai – he is Sultan in the blog and who knows??? Much love forever.

He: God Bless you and I look forward to an invitation to the wedding. I probably will not be able to make it because of my dialysis three days a week. But I will cherish the invitation.

Your the best in my opinion. I am hoping for the best for you and your prince.

Me: No my darling – you are the best! You are better than all the rest. Hahaha I do not think that I will marry the prince – I have decided to play hard to get. Hahaha. Actually that is the truth, well I think so anyway. We shall see what happened. With all his money and all – you could have dialysis there in Dubai. So you have no excuse whatsoever! Hahaha Do let us stay in touch. Please. I miss having you and your wife in my life.

So all of this is very jolly and fun but there is no joy without sorrow, sweet without bitter, etc. etc. etc. I have been in a state of denial (not just a river in Egypt) for about a week. I have been super tired, that was the only thing I was aware of. But here is the truth, avoiding it but the truth. I jokingly said to my wonderful surgeon that my right knee replacement was such a good experience that I would come back and have the left replaced. We laughed hilariously. I have been experiencing, and denying horrible pain in my left knee for about a week. Yesterday morning while having coffee and the yummy biscuit at the Mercury, the truth dawned. I dialed Dr, Daily’s office, the phone answered by a wonderful man. I explained my plight and my departure date of December 22, 2019. He put me on hold but then came back and gave me an appointment. While on hold I cried like a baby. They were tears of sorrow, not of joy. I will still go to London and Dubai but fear that I will come home to surgery. But I did it once, I can do it again. Needless to say, I am not happy. I called Personal Driver with the news and told him of the appointment time next Friday.

I am reminded of the Beckett wisdom” I can’t go on. You must go on! I will go on~

Perhaps I can get a cortisone shot so that I will be able to navigate about. Brian, my personal trainer of prior London days will be around to give me physical therapy. I’ll get by, as long as I have you. Wikipedia tells us about the song: “I’ll Get By (As Long as I Have You)” is a popular song with music by Fred E. Ahlert and lyrics by Roy Turk. It was published in 1928 and popular versions in 1929 were by Ruth Etting, Nick Lucas and by Aileen Stanley.[1]

The song was revived to even greater success in 1944” Here are the lyrics

.

I’ll get by

As long as I have you

Oh there be rain

And darkness too

I’ll not complain

I’ll live with you

Poverty

May come to me that’s true

But what care I

I’ll get by

As long as I have you

I’ll get by

As long as I have you

Oh there be rain

And darkness too

I’ll not complain

I’ll live with you

Ah, but tears

May come to me, that’s true

But what care I

I’ll get by

As long as I have you

But to end on a happy note. I spoke to Ed Henry about playing hard to get. Who am I trying to kid? I read my blog to the Sultan two days after our original meeting and in that blog I volunteered to be his London wife. He did not say yes, but he did not say no and afterwards he fist bumped me. Who knows?

The photograph Is of my shoes, the ones I wear constantly as I can get around quite well in them. The day before yesterday I got ten compliments and people liking my shoes come from everywhere. Those shoes have been in London, in New York and, of course, in San Francisco. I guess I will get by as long as I have them. Hahahaha
