Respecting the Privacy of Others: We BOTH Deserve to be Happy; Laugh and the World Laughs With You, Cry and You Cry Alone; Another Absolutely Brilliant Blog Breakdown Bringing Tears; Respecting the Rights of Others; I Cannot Save You I am Trying to Save Myself: An Eleanor Roosevelt GIF.

This has been the strangest morning of my life AND that is saying something.

Where am I?  At the breakfast bar of Mojo pretending it I am in Jakarta because of the time difference. Corresponding with a woman in Jakarta – faced some difficulties, but when they turned out, which they did surprisingly we had this conversation.

Me: So things okay I guess. Told Shamir.

She: I am so happy

Me: I am SO happy you are happy

She: Vvw happy

Me: We both deserve to be happy. And will be!! Just read the blog breakdown. It is incredible.

And it was, and is. The blog breakdown will live forever. We tend to forget this. Thinking that books are the only permanent record – but that is not true anymore. To be honest, which I always am, by the way, when I read the blog breakdown I started to cry. This was a bit embarrassing as I was sitting in the Lyf lobby surrounded by people who expect me to be happy. I contained my tears and left a voice message for Nesh which ended in laughter, actually. I was laughing at myself. That is the sign of a sense of humor, by the way. Read that somewhere – although at the moment cannot remember where? But remember the song or the saying: Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone.

Of course I Googled the saying and would you not know in this day and age???? Artificial Intelligence has the first word. Here goes.

‘The saying “laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone” means that people are naturally drawn to happiness and joy, while sadness and sorrow can be isolating. It suggests that while laughter is contagious and shared, sorrow tends to be borne individually. This concept is famously expressed in the poem “Solitude” by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.”

The poem “Solitude” by Ella Wheeler Wilcox explores this idea in detail. In the first stanza, she writes: “Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone; For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own”. This opening couplet highlights the theme of shared joy and individual sorrow. The rest of the poem expands on this idea, contrasting how people flock to those who are rejoicing with how they tend to avoid those who are suffering.

The poem suggests that while people are happy to partake in another’s happiness, they are often unwilling or unable to share in their grief. This can be due to a variety of factors, including a natural human tendency to gravitate towards positivity, or the emotional burden that comes with witnessing another’s pain. Ultimately, the poem serves as a commentary on the human condition and the ways in which we interact with each other, particularly in times of joy and sorrow.”

What is so unbelievably unbelievable is this. That was the message of the blog breakdown of today.I shall now speak of it . The photograph is the cover of my only self published book, which is weird considering I was speaking of the permanence of the Internet versus books. We can talk about the book at a later time perhaps. Here goes the blog breakdown.

Back in the Saddle: Again. From silly expressions..to death rituals..to Instagram wins. Life’s mix of grief, gratitude, and growth, all in one day.

Some days are uneven. They hold everything at once: laughter, loss, checklists and small victories.

Shamir’s return. A friend’s sudden grief. Reflections on my own death rituals. Blog breakdown brilliance. Instagram stats soaring. Smoked chicken worth a poem.

It sounds chaotic, but maybe that’s life as Allah intends, a tapestry of reminders.

Life is never just one thing.

It’s sunrise and burial. Joy and grief. Plans and prayers.

And through it all: faith, gratitude, and humor.

This blog began with the title: Respecting the Privacy of Others. I have always done so on this blog. Most often people have nicknames, even then not mentioned by their nicknames when their behavior has proven to be hypocritical. For example: AK (or FAKE) and/or Praiseworthy. Merely two examples. Therefore, their evil is not back biting but instead subject matter. There is a Malay saying, told to me by Shamir. I reached out to him. He immediately responded with a GIF of all things.

Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.

You shall see the GIF at the end of the blog. He had paraphrased it but sent the original later, It was not Malay, it was Eleanor Roosevelt actually. Shamir is SO smart. We have that in common. And with both of us, it does not appear to have come from our fathers.

Therefore, I will not reduce myself to the level of stupidity by mentioning the names of anyone. (Well except Shamir and Nesh – and they are OBVIOUSLY not stupid)

Hey maybe I will ask Artificial Intelligence about respecting the rights of others.  I did, but a referral to a more thorough source added another dimension.

Respect for rights of others is an essential aspect of human behavior that involves treating people with dignity and respect. It encompasses various aspects such as acknowledging the worth and value of each individual, recognizing their rights, and showing empathy towards their feelings and opinions. It continues: The role of law in protecting the rights of others is crucial. The legal system plays an important role in ensuring that individuals are treated fairly and their rights are protected. Laws are created to define and protect the basic human rights such as freedom, equality, and justice. These laws can be found in constitutions or statutes and they serve as the foundation for a just society.
Laws can take various forms, including criminal laws, civil laws, and administrative laws. Criminal laws deal with offenses against the state, while civil laws deal with disputes between private parties. Administrative laws govern the actions of government agencies. In all cases, however, the law serves to protect the rights of citizens and ensure that they are not violated.Challenges faced by individuals and groups seeking to promote respect for rights of others include opposition from those who do not share their values or beliefs, lack of awareness or education on human rights issues, cultural differences that may clash with Western ideals, and limited resources or support.
Additionally, there are often power imbalances between different groups, making it difficult for marginalized communities to advocate for their rights without fear of retribution or backlash. Furthermore, there can be resistance from those in positions of authority or influence who benefit from maintaining the status quo.
Overall, promoting respect for rights of others requires persistence, patience, and a willingness to face challenges head-on in order to create positive change.

All of this is true. But today – I stood up to man who was most abusive toward me. With dignity, as my Islamic Faith mandates. I respected his privacy – although he never, ever respected me, nor my dignity as a woman, as a person. I have learned recently that his lying and abuse of women and others  is a common occurrence in his life.

Oh well!! Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone. Despite this individual’s sociability all say he is lonely. He will cry alone and then a worse fate I fear.

The last words he said to me were:

He: Go to hell!!

Totally unprovoked, absolutely. I had done nothing except be friendly to a table of customers.

I turned on my heel and said calmly. It is you that will be going to hellfire.

Oh well, as Scott Fitzgerald said to Zelda. Words that have haunted me, my whole life.

Scott Fitzgerald: I cannot save you I am trying to save myself.

I Googled it. Who came up?????? Alexis McBride, not Artificial Intelligence was the first entry. . It was a blog I had written on March 22, 2024.https://alexismcbride.com/2024/03/22/better-late-than-never-saving-the-best-for-last-distraction-caused-by-vomiting-overcome-pertinent-scott-fitzgerald-quotes-best-for-last-is-fasting-for-ramadan-notes-from-a-spiritual-practice/; My Ingestion of Food Proven to be the Problem: Photographs Taken in Mosques

Look it up, take the photos from there. Hahaha Why do I have to do all the work. Poor Shamir has to post for me. Well I pay him – handsomely of course. Hahaha

Oh I will include his Eleanor Roosevelt GIF.
