Notification was received that I had 126 friend requests in the last three days. Out of curiosity I did accept two or three but considering I do not follow Facebook (and do not want to) – it seemed a little silly. It is definitely outlandish, unconventional and unorthodox for an old lady, born in Saskatchewan, to relive 126 friend requests on Facebook, from unknown folk. Perhaps some met when in Dubai, or perhaps London, but acquaintances, not friends. I was not tempted as it would be ridiculous to waste words on strangers, with no hope of any future connection. These days of solitude have been, almost, heaven sent. Time to reflect, to prioritize, to find new and interesting ways to entertain myself. Just prior to the enforced solitude I removed myself from Instagram. Well, following Instagram . It looks like alexismctwit is there but she is not.
There was a discovery, a small but important one. But it was the straw that broke the camel’s back, an interesting phrase because the man has many camels. The idiom “the straw that broke the camel’s back”, alluding to the proverb “it is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back”, describes the seemingly minor or routine action that causes an unpredictably large and sudden reaction, because of the cumulative effect of small actions. Where did it come from?
Possibly from the proverb, recorded by Thomas Fuller in his Gnomologia as “Tis the last feather that breaks the horse’s back.” This comes from an Arab proverb about loading up a camel beyond its capacity to move, to the scenario of a single straw of grass or hay overwhelming the desert-roaming beast of burden.

As I watch I am remembered of a time, perhaps twenty years ago when four or five women friends (and myself) went to an electrifying Tina Turner concert at the Oakland Coliseum. All of theml live in the San Francisco Bay Area but I have lost touch with them and do not want to renew their acquaintance. They took the safe and secure route and all experienced tragedies, of which they will never recover. One lost her son to suicide but it was because she chose to live in denial.and he did not get the treatment he so desperately needed. Another lost her home in the 2017 fire, rebuilt and it went up in flames recently. I was brave, not a cowardly lion (or lioness). This blog is saying goodbye to a multibillionaire, a handsome man with a wonderful family, whom I will lose and will miss so much. But one must close a door before you open another. I am closing this door, this chapter of my life. .
It is with chagrin I say onto you. Chagrin being: annoyance or distress at having failed or been humiliate. I am distressed, vexed frustrated and embarrassed and, even mortified, that I suggested that the Sultan, the Crown Prince of Dubai was someone to emulate. He is absolutely not. I made a mistake, brought about by his image, most probably manufactured by mind control folk. He is none of the things I thought he was – NONE.
I laughingly admit, as faithful readers will know, that I was most impolite to Joo Kim Tiah, saying “F* you and the horse you rode in on.” I was angry because he had a habit of believing lies about me, from known liars at that. I am thinking, but not saying this, to the Sultan: F* you and the camel you rode in on! But I am not saying this, merely thinking this. I have learned from prior mistakes.
Looking outside is most encouraging! There is more traffic on the street, people walk stridently with no face masksThere are no dogs on the street being led with face masked owners. It is survival of the fittest, that Darwinian concept. The less intelligent people with their face masks and dogs have probably gotten the virus and remain indoors, possibly dying or in the throes of death. Their neighbours are isolated from them and the stench of death and feces is unknown as they are isolated from the hallways and byways. More cars appear daily, we will be fine! Despite the idiot health officials who only succeeded in shutting down the economy. And no one stood up to them, except me. I did and All Praise to Allah!

Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ), the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, is may new hero, an incredible man who has bailed out Dubai on more than one occasion. In my humble opinion, he needs to take over rulership of Dubai and take over from the proven evil Ruler of Dubai.
