November 5, 2026. I eagerly anticipate the visit of my physician. I had some problems setting up this appointment. Then I found out why. His wife had a baby but then contacted influenza, so he has been on baby duty. I did not know he was even married. I am very happy for him
Me: Congratulations.
He: Thank you!
Me: On the baby not the influenza.
He: 😂
I am prepared for his visit in every way. A portion of my preparation was found in Life with the Prophet Muhammed. Upon the birth of his grandson the Prophet said: “Dear Lord, I love him, please love him and all those who love him.”
I did not have children, when one did not have children one must be prepared in advance. I laughingly recall my preparation when I reported for my first grandmother duty with the original Grandson Cole. I had NO idea what to do with babies. Not a clue and, for obvious reasons, did not want to admit to my lack of knowledge. Therefore I went to the library, got a book, studying it intensely – learning the importance of holding his head etc etc etc. My day long ‘duty’ went very well. His mother returned, found me holding him on the rocking chair. I said: Wow, if he were mine I would never get out of his this chair, just hold him all day.
I began to weep at the memory. I looked up and who did I see? My ‘adopted” Grandson Cole, smiling as he always does. I performed a supplication: thanking Allah for my new adopted family. They take away the pain of loss. I am blessed – the hardship of loosing the real thing – then the ease, the benefit of being in the company of these wonderful young people. Alhamdulillah.
November 7, 2026. The appointment with my doctor was most successful. He has been my personal physician for two years, preformed more than one cure with the modern medicine supplemented by physiotherapy. My skin condition diagnosed. I do not have late-in- life teenage acne, instead eczema. Treatment plan recommended. Several months ago I paid for a Bayan Tour of Muslim Malaysia, from December 16-27th beginning in Penang. I learned of this tour when living in KL when I, rather accidentally, met the tour leader. Sandman, concerned about my mobility issues said:
He: Your December tour is a coach tour, isn’t it? You would be climbing on and off with your knee and then going on long walks. I am not sure you could do it.
Me: I never thought of that. I need to find out if my physical limitations will prevent my participation.
I wrote the company, received a detailed description of number of daily up and down steps and walking entailed. With that itinerary provided asked for my physician’s opinion. He said it would be impossible. I would be ‘sitting out’ most of the activities. I will inform Bayan Tours – if I get a refund it will be donated to charity.
I expect too much of myself – forgetting I am an 83 year old woman – basically in excellent health for a woman my age but nonetheless…..
I need to constantly remind myself that I am writer who learns from books, not a jock. Hahaha. (The definition of a jock: an enthusiastic male athlete or sports fan, especially one with few other interests.) Hahaha That definitely is not me.
Now onto my ‘other interests’ My identity as a writer was enhanced extraordinarily. This my discovery. I, actually rather uncharacteristically, Googled Nouri My Light – a book that has enhanced my knowledge and my faith. Wait until you see what I found. I wrote to a dear Muslim friend. I shall share it with you.
I got an amazing surprise the other day. Absolutely amazing actually. You know the book that your cousin gave us – Nouri My Light. I read it constantly and often quote it on by blog – it looks like 10 times because it does speak to me – dilemmas I face. Not sure if you have had the time to read it.
Anyway. I, for some reason decided to Google Nouri My Light. Not sure if you use Google but when one does there are entries – I think ten to a page. Go ahead and do it. I almost fainted when I saw it. My blog is number three . Yes – it begins a dear friend gave me this book. I did, of course, send ‘dear friend’ a WhatsApp. It said: “Google Nouri . My Light. My blog is the third one down l Saying the book was gifted by a dear friend. Go to it. I dare you. Hahaha. I find my hard earned fame amazing sometimes. You know I do not profit from it in any way. I was blown away when I saw that. “
The entry on Google is entitled a dear friend did not let me down.
So now I am beginning to learn where and how I have so many blog readers. There maybe other Google places where my blog has precedence. So people wondering about certain things, would be drawn to the blog – to see what I say about it.
As I often speak of the faith this might serve as a magnet. The book Nouri My Light has brought me closer to Allah. Perhaps other people will be drawn as well. This discovery made me feel that I am on the Straight Path. I shall continue to write and to worship of course. This has definitely been a huge shot in the arm so to speak.
Shot in the arm is an idiom. Cambridge dictionary gives us the meaning: it is something that has a sudden and positiveeffect on something, providingencouragement and new activity:
It definitely has inspired me to keep writing, given me encouragement and has had a sudden and positive effect. I do love how I can come up with an idiom that says so much.
I received a blessedly wonderful response back.
She: Interesting discovery how Google picks up your blog and feeds other people’s search, and the leverage to share about the faith. Glad to know of the shot in the arm for you Alexis
Back to the Real World
Needless to say, and, OF COURSE, I am most pleased with the election results in the USA. I did respond to the endless Instagram self congratulatory statements speaking of the emerging representative government by saying
Me: Well is high time.
Admittedly it is improvement. The Founding Fathers were slave owners, only MEN owning property could vote. I studied constitutional law in the USA – I know it all. Hahaha
It seems for the forces of evil have been defeated. The Blue States have taken over from the Red States. Democrats beat out those Republicans. Muslims are recognized leaders in New York. Michigan and all over. Much as I would like join in the euphoria I can’t. I am a Malaysian. Took me five years to get there after I was persecuted because I reverted to the Muslim faith. I do NOT regret my hijrah for one moment. I am thankful that they beat me up, the police department and the evil courts who wrongfully terminated my lease. Goodness knows It has not been easy, but look how horrendous my life would have been there.
I can understand the euphoria at these elections but the US cannot immediately recover. Their infrastructure is crumbling after years of inattention because tax dollars were going to Israel. Violence is rampant, even In San Francisco many neighborhoods are terribly dangerous for tourists and white residents. Trump has served a function – kept everyone’s eyes on him, not the reality of America.
This whole world, not just the US, has changed for the absolute worst. I will always remember the photos of the little girl running – her clothes and her body on fire with the results of Napalm The photo, in many ways, brought the world to its feet with a realization of the horror and eventually led to the cessation of the Vietnamese War.
Look now at the lack of humanity in the world of today. Look at the death toll in Gaza that has gone on for years with world leaders offering words – to make them look good, not lifting a finger to prevent the carnage. People marching on streets thinking that made some difference. Of course it never did. It took Iran to give them back some of their own medicine. The sheep in America finally took notice of the situation when they were not able to buy food for their table or gas for their cars to finally start to get rid of two men who make Hitler look like a good guy. Hahahaha The two men are, of course. Trump and Netanyha and their minions.
Oops it is time for a definitions: Munion Those that surround Trump, including the comedians who rely on his buffoonery to make jokes. Look at minion’s synonyms: flunkey, lackey, hanger-on, henchman, camp follower, stooge, toady, sycophant, lickspittle, yes-man, bootlicker, brown-nose, suck-up.
Iran gave the US and Israel back some of its own medicine which means: To give someone a dose/taste of their own medicine means to treat a person just as badly or unfairly as they have treated you. Iran has not given them the ‘injection’ yet.
It is my job to tell the truth – both in my life and on this blog. Maybe not just the truth but the naked truth. This idiom was found on a site new to me theidioms.com
Naked truth is an idiom. This is the definition: 1) The plain and complete truth with nothing hidden, softened, or dressed up. 2).The blunt, unfiltered facts of a situation just as they really are, often hard or unpleasant to hear. 3) The full reality of something with no covering, pretense, or extra decoration. 4) The total unembellished truth that someone might find difficult to accept. So sorry all your deniers- it is a universal problem. As I always say DENIAL is not just a river in Egypt or is it Africa??? Hahaha
I look through my photographs to find ones that portray or reflect what I wrote about. Cannot find any. Instead you will get a good morning greeting of a few days ago. I am not, by the way, sending good morning greetings to all any more. This being a celebrated writer has sort of gone to my head. Oh my goodness another idiom. dictionary.Cambridge.org tells us that If something goes to someone’s head, it makes that personthink that they are very important and makes them a less pleasantperson and then warns If success goes to yourhead, it makes you believe that you are more successful or powerful than you really are:
Then more pictures of my Mojo family. These are not grandchildren. Their names are Hairy and Ishi. Again, near and dear names of my former life. You will see why one of them is called Hairy.
