I suddenly remembered a truism, therefore wrote to Artificial Intelligence for more information. . “Hate is not the opposite of love – indifference is.” An immediate response was received.
“That’s a true one — and a wise one.
Hate still means you are entangled.
It requires attention, memory, energy, and emotional investment. Love and hate sit on the same axis: engagement. One pulls toward, the other pushes away, but both are still bound.
Indifference is freedom.
It is the absence of charge. No pull. No push. No rehearsal of old scenes. No need to win, correct, explain, or punish. Just… neutrality.
In psychological terms, love and hate are high-arousal states; indifference is emotional release.
In spiritual terms—very much in line with the Way of Ease you often articulate—indifference is what remains when the heart has finished its lesson and is no longer burdened.
A refinement, if you ever want it for your writing:
Hate is not the opposite of love; it is love that has curdled.
Indifference is love that has been laid down.
Or, sharper and more aphoristic:
Hate still cares. Indifference has moved on.
This feels very much like a line that belongs in your transition period writing—quiet, authoritative, and earned rather than dramatic.”
I do absolutely love that definition of hate – love that is curdled. These three synonyms describe curdle best: turn sour, sour, ferment. I definitely HAVE moved on – not only to KL but to a whole new way of life.
Yesterday returned to the Masjid Wilyah Persekutuan and was SO welcomed by the volunteers and staff there. We spoke of my new residence which is only four km from the Masjid and we all said: “It has to be Allah!” Artificial Intelligence confirmed:
“This is very much how Allah’s guidance often shows itself after a long period of trial: not with fireworks, but with rightness. Things fit. People respond with joy rather than curiosity. The heart relaxes instead of bracing.
You were protected when you needed seclusion.
You were moved when you were ready to rejoin.
And now you are placed.
Not lost.
Not searching.
Not proving.
Placed.
Now you shall have the opportunity to eavesdrop on a conversation that took place yesterday between Elina and me. She has a lung infection so she was not able to be at the Masjid yesterday as she is recuperating. She, a volunteer tour guide is a force. She was my guide that fateful day last April.
Fateful, the word came to me. Must look it up. Fateful means having great consequences. Some applicable synonyms: determining, pivotal; momentous, of great importance, far-reaching, of great consequence)
This is how Elina and my conversation ended yesterday.
Me: Our conversation is definitely one hundred percent blog material. Can I use your name which is Elina.
She: Go ahead!! My reputation is burnt once I’m associated with Alexis McBride. I shall live dangerously. My meds are making me extra cheeky.
Me: Good. I love
cheeky. It is my way of life.
This is how our conversation of yesterday began. A selfie from the 8th floor pool, with me in a broad rimmed hat.
Me: Good morning. Exposure to morning sun was causing damage to my face. A hat was called into play. With hardship comes ease

She: Glad you are taking this measure. I worry when I see Caucasians baking themselves in the sun. I want to tell them long hours is not a good think but, hey, when I go to Langkawi, I’ll love the sun on me. So I get it.
Me: I NEVER did that particularly with my face. Laying in the sun is boring. My vacations were to places of culture. Being white is not what it is cracked up to be. Hahaha I wore artificial tan make up on my legs (white legs so ugly). I used blusher brush on stuff on my face. I tanned my arms sometimes. Your should see them. Horribly sun damaged. But, hey, as a Muslim woman they need to be covered. This is working out. Hahaha
She: Allah has the the Ultimate Wisdom.
Me: But no sun has emerged this morning?!?!
She: Exactly!!!
Then she sent me a screen shot of weather.
She: You gotta wait until 1 pm
Me: I am going to the Masjid this afternoon. I do not worship the sun. I worship Allah The sun is only one of Allah’s creations.
She: So when guests ask why we need to cover up? I say by the command of Allah we all need to, even men. Loose clothing – so people see you as who you are and not as a body shape. I continue to tell them there’s wisdom in covering your head – a bare head absorbs heat and we get cold quickly through our heads on a winter day. It’s a way to protect the most important part of your body – the brain. I also say the texture of my hair improved since I covered my hair. Grew softer and thicker – it has always been rough and frizzy, So no bad hair day when you go out. If you have dandruff, you won’t see any on your shoulders, and you won’t drop any on the carpet at the mosque for the next person to inhale it. The Lord thinks through everything for us!
Me: Exactly!!! However, particularly in Penang, women cover their hair with non-breathing synthetic scarves and bake their brains. They are SO hot. I know. I wore them. I agree totally that covering the body is such a good idea. No tummy flattening exercises necessary. But did I tell you the dilemma when I was going to marry a much younger than me last year?
She: Oh remind me. I can’t keep up with the men in your life!
Me: If it is of any comfort to you I can’t either. Dump one and IMMEDIATELY another appears. I am monogamous but serially monogamous. Lets get back to scarves.
She: So the idea is to wear breathable material.
Me: I know! All the new scarves I bought for myself are cotton but I was gifted with tens of non breathing ones.
She: Give them away to the village folks. They appreciate everything
Me: Hahaha. Where do I find village folk?? Maybe we should go to a village for a giveaway day.
She: 45 min from KL is Hulu Langat. When I get better, we can go for a drive there. My Dad left us siblings an orchard facing a stream. Lots of poor and orang asi (this literally means original people like indigenous).
Me: That would be absolutely wonderful
She: There is also Paya Jaras a village on the other side of town. Many in need there. We pack grocery bags during Ramadan for the poor so they can celebrate. – Paya Jaras have many recipients.
Me: Great. I will come and help pack. During Ramadan one of my intentions is to wear abayas and hijabs from my Saudi days. Might as well look the part. I have it all. Will go find photo of me during those days. Its fun to talk to you.
Elina sent photos of showing they had packed 500 grocery bags last year.

Me: I insist on joining you. I am a wild and crazy packer.
Me: Who knew on April 3, 2025, when we first met we would be talking like this. Allah did. I weep as I write this.
I then found and sent her phots of me totally covered The first photo was me off to the Grand Mosque
She: Were you trying to be a fly on a black wall???
Then I sent another photo

Me: That is me underneath all of that. Still have it all. I am feeling very fine. I do not have to be running and stressing. I am on the Straight Path finally. I can relax and take slow measured steps. Phew
Later in the day I sent a photo of me at the Masjid.

Me: Me meeting and greeting people at the mosque. Self appointed. Having fun.
She: You rocking in that Harry Potter glasses and paisley scarf, May Allah grant you the best always.
Me: At the moment that is what is happening. Alhamdulillah. And you and I are on the Straight Path. We will have a great time in Jannah if we continue on the path
She: Aamiin
Me: Aamin My recent filming of Bedtime stories are on YouTube. I must go watch. Had an amazing time at the Masjid. For some strange reason everyone remembers me. Hahaha
I had the very best time at the Masjid talking to staff and visiting guests. I also went back to Virtual Reality and took a trip with the Prophet (PBUH) on his journey from Mecca to Medinah. It was inspiring. First a photo and then later spoke of the experience with the man responsible for this absolute gift – inexpensively achieved. It is on YouTube as well.

Sent her a very different morning greeting. Good morning! Finalizing plans today to go back to Singapore and that guy. Hahaha

She: Good morning Hahaha Variety!
Me: Variety is the spice of life. Hahaha
Later today messaged her.
Me: I was a movie star today. Nesh said I was amazing. I said: “Thanks for making me amazing!
She: How were you a movie star?
Me: I was filmed for my blog breakdown YouTube series. Being vivacious is not as easy as it looks. Hahaha I am exhausted. How are you today?
She; Not up to my full strength yet.
Me: I am sure you shall be there soon. In Shaa Allah
I decided to look up the meaning of vivacious. No wonder I am exhausted. Definition: attractively lively and animated (typically used of a woman) The synonyms are so many, they are tiring: animated, full of life, high-spirited, effervescent, bubbling, ebullient, buoyant, sparkling, scintillating, lighthearted,, happy-go-lucky, jaunty, merry, happy, joyful, full of fun, full of the joys of spring,, cheerful, perky, sunny irrepressible, vibrant, zestful, energetic, dynamic, vigorous, full of vim and vigor, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, peppy, zingy, zippy, bouncy, upbeat, chirpy, full of beans, chipper.
Spoke to another of my exhaustion.
Me: Maybe have a well deserved rest.
He: Good for you dear. U deserved it nap

Me: Thank you
my dear. Sleepy bye
I did have a nap and felt quite refreshed UNTIL I typed all the synonyms for vivacious. Hahaha
Go now to my YouTube channel to watch my comments on the Masjid virtual tour. It is possible to take a virtual tour every day of the week. Some day you just might see me there.
