A Day’s Delay Makes Visiting the Islamic Art Museum Malaysia Made it into an Anniversary of Sorts; The First Floor Architectural Gallery was the Focus of This Visit; The Museum’s Ambiance: Return to Penang Resulted in a Conversation With Artificial Intelligence That Must Be Read to Be Believed; Imbedded Photographs

Faithful readers will remember, the planned visit to the Islamic Art Museum was delayed for a day because of a late start. Therefore the visit took place on July 8, 2025. Miraculously the admittance ticket for my April 8, 2025 visit was being used as a bookmaker, otherwise I would not have remembered the exact date of my prior visit. The return visit became more profound as it carried the memories of the previous visit. It was an entirely different experience.

The April 8, 2025 visit found me being pushed about in a wheelchair by a man who is no longer in my life. The July 8, 2025 visit found me erect walking comfortably and freely about, this time accompanied by Aline, my Muslim Sister. A different section of the Museum was explored on the second visit. Alina and I visited the First Floor Architecture Gallery. Aline had so much to share as she had visited several counties – most notably traveling with a 2024 Silk Road China tour . She was able to take me on her journey of the Silk Road with anecdotes, photographs and reels of her October 2024 guided tour. This inspires me to travel these parts to see the extent of the Islamic Faith in China and view the freedom offered Chinese Muslims to practice their faith. Western media paints an entirely different picture full of misinformation and lies. Admittedly Islamaphobia does exit in Xinjuing. However, look to parallels in the US – the southern slave states violated the rights of black, whereas the rest of the country offered greater freedom to blacks. Aline took a photo of congregational prayer at DunHuamg Mosque. There is a separate section for the ladies. Aline also filmed calls to prayer made at two locations in China. They will be included in my YouTube at a later time.

This visit I marveled at the museum’s ambiance. Ambiance is the the character and atmosphere of a place: Other descriptive words: aura, setting, milieu. An informal word: vibes.
The milieu is quiet, reverent, peaceful, worshipful. I have visited tens, if not hundreds of museums in my time – this was unique.

The Architecture Gallery featured models of famous mosques. I looked through my photographs to find examples, only to find that I was hopelessly remiss. Only one, the Prophet’s Mosque made it into the camera’s lens. There was, of course, a model of the Kaaba and its surroundings. It was made at some time in the past. Constant expansion in both Mecca and Medina results in the desecration of these Holy Sites. It is well known, but never articulated in the press – that all is being sacrificed to fund the greed of those in power in Saudi Arabia. KSA’s less than tepid support of Gaza has been instructive in this regard.

There were displays explaining the distinctive regional architectural styles – those of North Africa, Sub Sahara West Africa, Anatolia, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and China.

We lunched at the museum’s Moza Restaurant and made a visit to the Museum Shop where I purchased a magnet, a beautiful fan, a bag promoting peace in Gaza and a book on Aisha. I do love museum shots. The Visitor’s Guide is pictured as week as a photograph taken outside when we suddenly realized we had not taken any photos of our smiling faces.

I have returned to Penang. It is good to be home, But onto a completely different topic. For some obscure reason decided to elicit the assistance of Artificial Intelligence. Decided I would try to find out if my first husband was alive or dead. The answer was equivocal. I typed in his name receiving this answer
AI: I wasn’t able to find any credible information- such as obituaries, news reports or professional registries confirming wether the man in question has passed away or remains alive.
