So many things have happened since the I blogged last. I am now comfortably enshrined in a Georgetown Boutique Hotel. I am TOTALLY loving it. Laughing with the staff about my residency in Penang
Me: I absolutely love this hotel. In every way. I love that everything is for the convenience of the guest. Not like the Lexis Suites where everything is for the convenience of greed and scabies.
She: You saved the best until last.
Me: Indeed I did. Hope this is true about the impending marriage as well. Hahaha
I had heard about boutique hotels but never really stayed in one before. This is what Google says about them
“A boutique hotel is a type of hotel that feels small, intimate, and quaint. It typically has less than 100 rooms and offers guests an ultra-personal service. Unlike the way most other hotel brands are perceived by the public, a boutique hotel stays true to the local culture.”
Also:
“In general, a boutique hotel is characterized by unique personality and décor, personalized service, prime location and a local flair. To put it simply, when you hit the Holiday Inn, you’ll get a clean bed to sleep on and the same bland, boring room you’ve seen in 100 other cities.”
That is it! A clean bed and the same bland, boring room you have seen in 100 other cities. Lexis Suites adds a different diabolical dimension – there you do NOT get a clean bed to sleep on – and you share it with an army of mites.
Quite recently, a young Muslim woman queried:
She: It is amazing how you have such a positive cheerful outlook on life with all the trauma you have experienced. Why is that? How are you able to do it?
Me: What a great question! Never thought out that before. Give me a couple of minutes to think. Recently, my Islamic beliefs, but my sense of humor has always come to the rescue, making me laugh It is an inherited trait, I can find humor in the worst of situations.
Oops, another amazing coincidence just took place in my life. Went to Instagram to see a reel of Marylou Angelo. You must watch it and read all of the comments made. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDropjKibkI/?igsh=cDhyM3N0dXl6enFl. It is called Laughter is the Best Medicine. It begins a never trust a person who does not laugh. As often as possible she laughs. She is SO inspiring, which inspired others comments.
She: Yes. I get it from her. I have written a poem . I’ve written a poem to celebrate her, calling her the perfect rainbow in the cloud. I adore her.
Another: She gives us hope in the midst of utter despair
But back to despair for a few paragraphs. I had scabies since September 1. It is true. I have NO idea how I was able to sleep, nor does the doctor who finally diagnosed me. But I did. Think of the suffering of kids and babies though – I cannot imagine such suffering. I found the last days unbearable as I would see little babies and little kids knowing the agony that they and their parents would be going through. The Lexis Suites staff have no humanity at all. Not in touch with any of the employees since I left with the exception of Amy of Lex Spa the other day on WhatsApp.
She: We are very busy.
Me: Do you realize what you are doing????? You are spreading the disease when you give someone a massage.
She said nothing. It was so frightening to see her eyes – they were unseeing, dead. She had no soul. She was once a friend but evil had taken her over. That is why the Islamic faith insists that that one must walk away from evil. ASAP. She did not get away in time and became a hypocrite – I see that now. I am not back biting – forbidden in the Islamic Faith as well. One gets away from hypocrites and can be dealt with harshly. I once thought Hammad was a hypocrite. I will explain why and how I found out that he was there was no there – there.
Enough despair, it is now back to boutique hotels. Are there disadvantages?
Since boutique hotels are smaller, they may not provide the same range of facilities like gyms, restaurants, or business centers. Additionally, some boutique hotels may lack the consistency in service and room quality that chain hotels can offer. My room is absolutely amazing – the service incredible. The food so fresh. My breakfast yesterday morning was absolutely delicious. I could get a banana for my cereal – for some obscure reason this not possible at the Lexis Suites. I think I took a picture of my breakfast plate – if so you will see it at the conclusion of the blog.
I wonder if there are boutique hotels in Jeddah. I will look it up as that is my next step IF I can get an airplane ticket because of Chase Fraud Alert. What a mess my life is at the present moment – except for this hotel which will remain nameless until I get out of Penang and Malaysia. The General Manager at the E and O had a generous and magnificent idea. She altered the American Embassy to my plight. Drew got in touch with me and soon the problem will be solved I am sure. I am confident in his abilities. I have not been able to solve the problem myself despite calls to them – at least two I can remember. Not going to think about it now. I cannot. In less than.a week I am heading off on the biggest adventure of my life. No doubt about that.
It is early morning -not absolutely early around 8. I am laying on a lounge chair writing – an umbrella shading me from the early morning sunshine.
Decided to add some humor for obvious reasons – to make you laugh. This is from my favorite source, discussing illiteracy. It takes talent to make illiteracy funny. WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Republican members of the House Ethics Committee revealed on Wednesday that they decided to release their report on former congressman Matt Gaetz when they realized that their voters do not read.Speaking on condition of anonymity, one GOP committee member said, “The report is riddled with words that are far too long for people who had to google ‘tariff.’”Explaining the Republicans’ about-face on releasing the report, he said, “It took us a second to remember that our base reads at a Tuberville level.” The congressman noted that Republicans joined with Democrats on the vote, adding, “One of the only ideas that has bipartisan support in Congress is that Matt Gaetz is a dick.”
The photos attached each tell a story. Hammad sent me the easy to read and understand information on scabies. I posted the ‘photo’ on Instagram informing all of the infestation at Lexis Suites Penang. I used Instagram and the blog to warn the world of the extreme health hazard. Go to my You Tube to see General Manager Ben Ho’s response to my request to video my presentation of the facts of the infestation. Go to Shorts, there are two showing my face with 48 and 47 views. It is obvious from subsequent inaction and cover up that Lexis Suites are just ignoring the health needs of its guests in order to maximize their profits. There is a photo of the medicine prescribed by the doctor who finally diagnosed my scabies.
But do lets be cheerful. Other photos. My screensaver shows my intended photographed at the doorway of the family private jet. The other a photo he sent me on December 8 at the exact time we met a year ago. I do not have a romantic bone in my body – he does. I made a very scenic and sensitive Instagram post with the following caption. I am laughing I understandably got angry with Hammad and deleted this. Things are not much better now. As Shakespeare says the course of true love never did run smooth This MUST be true love. Hahaha. Then wrote a reply: Had a fight but we are back. Soon marriage it seems. More later.
Just to be perfectly clean and very confessional. I fight, he is patient, kind and loving. I realize my errors, say I am sorry (which I am). He says;
He: I forgive you Alaa, So does Allah. I have lost count of how many rounds the marriage and there have been in this, the fight and the marriage of the century. I am the heavy weight (unfortunately). My bulk hidden by my abayas. Ramadan begins February 28, 2025 where I learn that food is fuel, loose about fifteen pounds. My previous Ramadans have been solitary, this year I will be with my new Nigerian family. ‘
Me: Worry not Hammmad. Help in the form of Ramadan is coming.
He is SO funny. I can imagine him saying this
He: Is this the Before or the After?
Me: It is During, stupid.
For some reason he loves it when I call him stupid. I do it once in while – not ALL of the time.
