I have just decided to do a minute by minute report of my journey from Penang to KL. I can do this because I am super organized and got here early. Arrived very early as a matter of fact – forty five minutes early for my train journey taking me from Penang to KL.
It has been relatively stress free because I have learned to ape to rich. Ape the rich, is my terms – it means you do what the rich people do. This is impossible all of the time unless you are rich but if you have a reasonable income than when one travels you do what the rich people do. You hire a limousine service to get you to the airport or, in this case the train station. Never could, and never will understand why people spend thousands of dollar for a vacation, than try to save a couple of books by taking an interior mode of transportation to the airport (or (in this instance, train station)
Trusty Shamir booked the service associated with Paradise. The driver arrived not only on time but early, which explains why I got to the train station indecently early. There was no traffic because my train leaves at 6:30 am on a Sunday. This brilliant planning made possible by Shamir. Had a great char with my driver, born in Penang, speaks fluent English and is a muslim.
I got to the station in record time, but then the fun began. I am using this expression sarcastically.
I asked Artificial Intelligence to describe the use of sarcasm. This was the answer I received:
Sarcasm is a form of verbal irony that involves saying one thing but meaning the onsite, often for humor out or mocking effect. It is typically used to convey contempt, criticism, or to highly absurdity, and it can be an effective tool of communication when the intent it to emphasize a point through exaggeration or contradiction.
AI continued speaking of key features, examples of sarcasms. Then coming to a conclusion.
Sarcasm is a nuanced form of expression that can add humor or depth to communication but it requires careful usage to ensure the intended meaning is understood. It can enhance social interactions, foster humor and serve as a tool for critiquing and highlighting inconsistencies or absurdities in a lighthearted jabber. However, one must be mindful of the audience and context to avoid potential misunderstandings.
I invite readers to explore the concept in Artificial Intelligence for themselves. It is rather enlightening. I just put sarcasm to use. I had sent a sunrise photo to friends from KL. (To be shown at conclusion of blog) Yasmin wrote back.
She: Good morning it is. The sky is on fire.
Me: Fortunately just the sky. Not like what happened in LA. Hahaha
Oops got a little off topic there. Got to the station. My driver helpfully told me to get on the left and go to the first floor. There were no signage, nothing and the place was deserted of both helpful personal and even other knowledgable travelers. The first floor held no hope. Bored complacent people behind a barrier. A few polite inquiries of fellow travelers brought no helpful responses. Finally a man in a uniform was seen, flagged him down. He said I could flash my phone at 6 and I would be allowed entry. About twenty minutes later a young woman stationed herself beside the barrier. She smilingly assisted my entry. I went to the nearby business class lounge, the hardship ended and benefit began to pour its blessings.
Began chatting with others who were going to KL, so I knew I was in good hands. Just follow them, which I did. The announcement made, we headed to Platform 2. A very well dressed professional woman and I began a conversation. This was her first such train trip as well, we were both virgins. (Hahahaha). She was so helpful. We began a conversation in earnest.
She was a lawyer as well, a matrimonial lawyer working in KL, she explained. Asked her many questions and received some very astute answers. Malaysia does not recognize pre nuptial agreements, that is a distinct disadvantage and error on their part. They do not allow the parties to make decisions about the allocation of their property. Therefore, the only way to ‘safely’ enter a marriage (it seems to me) is to marry a Muslim, The marriage contract, enforced by the faith and Allah would and does provide for the allocation of resources. I would be protected with the contract AND receive a dowry.
Amazing, a totally chance encounter with much information, which of course, shall be further explored with competent counsel. Found my seat with her assistance, a helpful young man assisted finding a place or my baggage in a luggage rack. All was well, the train sped off in a timely fashion.
I had forgotten how much I love train travel. We sped speedily and smoothly along the track. The vistas were nothing short of amazing. This is the most beautiful country on earth. The greenery so lush, so varied, all intertwined with one another, living in compatibility. There is sufficient rain for all to grow. The soil much be rich in nutrients, otherwise no all could; d flourish. There are many palm trees,. I understand that they are gown to produce palm oil which is exported. But other crops dot the landscape. No idea what is being grown, but I shall do some research. I was transfixed by the great out of doors that surrounded us. But not so my fellow passengers I noted. They were enraptured with their phones, looking at junk it looked like. Or staring straight ahead, at nothing. Little conversation taking place. I was in a solitary seat on the left – 7A to be exact. Seven is supposed to be a lucky number, not sure why. I will find out. This the conclusion coming straight from Artificial Intelligence to you.
The perception of seven as a lucky number is rooted in combination of cultural traditions, religious significance and its frequent associations in nature and human experiences. This multifaceted nature contributes to the ongoing view of seven as a special and auspicious number in many societies.
Discovered that in Islam, there are seven heavens and seven earths. Muslims perform seven circuits around the Kaaba during their pilgrimages. I was in 7 A – I guess the A was for either Alexis or Alaa (my Muslim name).
I was so loving the train ride and the experience, taking me back to earlier days of train travel. I brilliant thought came to mind. I texted a man.
Me: When and if we go to Japan we should take the train. I have read of such trips where you go by train, getting on and off in various locations. Such fun it shall be!
Not sure what his response was. If he does not want to do it – I can do it on my own. I am blessed with the financial resources to do so. Just because he has limited imagination does not have to effect my life. So there, so there, so there’s.
I sent a morning greeting to my fold, You shall see the photo and my my comment.
Me: No sunrise because going too fast. This is my breakfast on the way to KL.
In response Yasmin sent me a message which shall follow the blog. Faith tells me that no matter what lies ahead of me. Allah is already there.
Me: That is SO true.
Another response.
She: How was the journey? Hope you had a lovely experience.
Me: It was amazing. Reel to follow shows what happened when I got there.
I did attempt to take a photo of the sunrise from the train window. That photo will be included.
Gentle readers – you shall have to wait until tomorrow’s blog to see the greeting that awaited me.
