Thoughts on the Eve of Ramadan; Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall But Decided Not to Blog About It After All: I Am Truly Blessed; Helpful Suggestion for Problem at the Mexican-USA Border; Vile Defined; Photograph of a Humble Candelabra and Alexis in Shirt

I was considering blogging about the unfortunate event that occurred when a certain individual found the painting of my face like the flag of Qatar threatening. It was not my words or demeanor but this man is not blessed with insight. But then decided – why bother?? Best to be positive. Accent the positive, eliminate the negative and do not mess with Mr. In-between. I think that is a song.

But this is how the beginning of the ‘negative’ came thought of the phrase. Into each life some rain myst fall is an interesting phrase and, of course, I googled it and discovered its basis a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Rainy Day.

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the mouldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

There is also the lyrics by Ella Fitzgeralds, sung by the Inkspots. How fascinating!
Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall

But too much is falling in mine
Into each heart some tears must fall
But some day the sun will shine
Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
But too much is falling in mine
Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
But too much, too much is falling in mine
Into each heart some tears must fall
But some day the sun will shine
Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
But too much is falling in mine
Into each and every life some rain has got to fall
But too much of that stuff is falling into mine
And into each heart some tears got to fall
And I know that someday that sun is bound to shine
Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
But too much is falling in mine

So Google Into Each Life Some Rain must fall and you shall find the poem, the lyrics and the song – sang by Ella Fitzgerald and the Inkspots.

The original plan was to quote from the vile email received from Brian Klaben, the Manager of this otherwise most pleasant complex. . It was described as vile and here is the definition of vile. Its definition is extremely unpleasant. The synonyms will take you sing:
nasty, unpleasant, bad, disagreeable, horrid, horrible, dreadful, abominable, atrocious, offensive, obnoxious, odious, unsavory, repulsive, off-putting, repellent, revolting, repugnant, disgusting, distasteful, loathsome, hateful, nauseating, sickening; base, low, mean, wretched, disgraceful, appalling, shocking, ugly, vulgar, sorry, shabby, shameful, dishonorable, execrable, heinous, abhorrent, deplorable, monstrous, wicked, evil, dark, dirty, vicious, iniquitous, sinful, corrupt, sordid, depraved, perverted, debased, reprobate, degenerate, debauched, dissolute, contemptible, despicable, reprehensible, diabolical, diabolic, devilish, fiendish, hellish, damnable; informal yucky, sick-making, gut-churning, icky, gross, godawful, lowdown, rotten, sick. The original plan was to quote from the yucky, iniquitous, and reprobate email that appeared in my Inbox and my response to same. But no, I shall not.

It is the eve of Ramadan. My Inbox received the following message: Ramadan Kareem. “On behalf of the Board of Governors and staff of the Middle East Institute we wish all who celebrate this holy month a healthy and peaceful Ramadan.” It was not exactly sent to me on an individual basis, I do admit. I am on the mailing list of the Middle East Institute as there was a time in my recent past characterized by a speciality in the Middle East. I remain most interested in Qatar – as one could guess looking at my face three days ago. Hahahaha

I do think that a solution to the problems of the USA and Canada could be solved by certain actions by the Emir of Qatar and did mention them in a prior blog. The hordes of migrants on the border of the United States and Mexico could be placed on a train – called the Freedom Train and transported to Canada. Canada needs more people, that is a fact and is very welcoming to those from Mexico. Canada welcomes those from other lands, citizenship is granted almost instantaneously and medical care is readily available as there is socialized medicine. Why people want to come to the USA is a mystery. Now I do admit that I legally came to this country in 1967 but it was a different environment and I was able to not just survive, but to thrive. But back to the Emir of Qatar’s role in all of this. He could fund the train – not that expensive as the tracks are already in existence. Then set up temporary living quarters in Vancouver. Again, not that expensive as there are vacant hotels., for example the former Trump Hotel and Tower on West Georgia Street. Then the folks could be dispersed throughout Canada as Vancouver is an extremely expensive place to live and there is a shortage of doctors in the City. Now it can get cold in Canada, that is true but there is ample central heating in all homes and often underground and covered malls. Shovels, for snow removal are cheap and readily available. Now at the moment, there might be a problem as Canada is suffering from the third wave due to the mismanagement of its prime minister but the situation could be remedied as the people coming to live in Canada would be quarantined in the vacant hotels in Vancouver.
Problem solved!!! Poor President Biden could get onto other things such as the infrastructure. Canada would be populated by industrious people who would be welcomed. All it takes is a little leadership. I guess I could reach out to the Vice President as this seems to be her task and she is on Instagram. Well so are many members of the Emir’s family are on Instagram, come to think of it.

I am a problem solver by the way – Wise Man congratulates me on this proven scientific aspect of my personality. I am wasted here – I should perhaps be a Queen somewhere – it would be consistent with my Muslim name, which is Ayla which means Queen.

Such frivolity. Things are going to become serious on this blog as I shall track my thoughts and feelings during Ramadan. I do actually look forward to the time of fasting and reflection and peace. My life may drastically change, yet again, and I do need time to prepare myself. It might not change – I am most happy in my current existence. I am well loved and have the greatest of neighbors. I have a candelabra which holds candles but one of the holders was missing. My neighbors gave me one from their collection and so now it is whole.

It shall be photographed. Now the candelabra is not as grand as the one in the Qatar palace. The one that I was invited to live in a week ago but it does cheer the place up at night. The candles purchased at Target are so very inexpensive.

The other photograph was sent to members of the Royal family – it is me in a t shirt that was a present from CPI, my high school and uni friend. It says:

Today will bring a blow dry (not job) from Kim and then lunch. It will be my last lunch for a month. No lunch during Ramadan. I shall look good on May 13 – slimmer and at peace. When you are hot, you are hot. When you are not, you are cold according to Kim.
